Imagine-IT Implementation IV
During my ImagineIT program I was discussing implementing technology into my classroom. Through Donors Choose I was granted 10 Chromebook, my students were ecstatic. I am so glad I read, Stuck in the Shallow End, I could relate the issue the teacher face, about the lack of information and support. As educators, we need to think outside of the box and be creative. The world that we live in is so embedded in technology and I want my students to see technology as a tool for learning.
Next step is to use the Chromebook in an efficient and effective manner in my instruction. We were able to use the Chromebooks to investigate a variety of topics and use it in our writing. Students will read then would see an accompanying video to get a deeper understanding of the article and understand the different point of views. One of the dilemmas occurred in my classroom is time constrictions.
Since testing is around the corner I needed to learn and also to teach using technology effectively. I work closely with my technology coordinator, but she is unfamiliar of how to use Chromebook in the classroom. Research through the web, collaborating with other technology teacher are some of the resources I am currently using. I understand it will be a trial and error process, and time-consuming but I know the results will be rewarding for my students.
